BettySoo

   BettySoo blends folk, rock and Americana influences in her music.  She was born in 1979 in Spring, Texas to a musical family of Korean descent.  She started playing guitar and writing songs in college and released her debut album Let Me Love You in 2005.  Since then, she has recorded several solo albums and collaborations with other artists, such as Doug Cox, Charlie Faye, and Nobody's Girl.  She has also toured extensively with acclaimed musicians like James McMurtry, Chris Smither, and Alejandro Escovedo.  BettySoo is known for her pure and powerful voice, witty and heartfelt lyrics, and engaging and humorous stage presence.  She has won several awards and honors, including the Kerrville New Folk and the  Mountain Stage New Song Contest.  She is also an active member of the Austin music community and has contributed vocals and harmonies to many local projects.  BettySoo is a passionate and versatile artist who continues to explore new musical audiences worldwide.
