Terri Hendrix

. . . is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and independent music entrepreneur known for her diverse musical style, compelling lyrics, and engaging live performances.  Born in San Antonio, Texas, Hendrix has forged a unique path in the folk, country, blues, and Americana genres.

Hendrix's musical journey began at a young age when she stared playing piano and later picked up the guitar.  Her early experiences as a musician involved playing in local bands and she soon found her voice as a songwriter.  One of Hendrix's defining qualities is her lyrical prowess, addressing a wide range of topics with honestly and introspection.  Her songs often explore themes of love, life's challenges, and social issues, resonating with a diverse audience.

In addition to her music career, Hendrix is known for her entrepreneurial spirit.  She founded her own independent record label, Wilory Records, which allows her to maintain creative control over her music and connect directly with her audience.  This DIY approach has influenced the changing landscape of the music industry.

Beyond her musical achievements, Hendrix is a passionate advocate for individuals with disabilities, drawing from her own experiences with Chiari Malformation, Epilepsy, Spasmodic Dysphonia, and Essential Vocal Tremor.  She firmly believes in the transformative power of the arts to uplift the human spirt.  In addition to her work Hendrix dedicates herself to helping individuals with special needs write their own songs and stories.  This has led to the establishment of her nonprofit organization, Own Your Own Universe which she established in 2012 with the Texas Commission on the Arts.
